Springtime traffic on the Northumberland lanes. It took ages for these girls to make their way to the end of the track. We were in no rush.
The local library outside Ingram Village Hall.
Wil may or may, not be mocking the current fad for posing for Instagram. He does make a good teapot.
A corker of a view down the Ingram Valley.
Wil opts for the fancy 'pluck your drone out of mid air' landing technique.
Greg shooting Davy shooting Greg.
If there's one man who doesn't like wet feet it's Davy!
The Ad Gefrin whiskey distillery in Wooler is well worth a visit. It's like being inside a whisky barrel. Smells like you would imagine too!
The classy baguette down your back look. This was dinner.
Wil's fancy sleeping mat inflates via an air bag contraction. The biggest risk here was a puncture in the night as we had no groundsheet. Extra time was taken to clear any spiky twigs out of the way.
Some in the outdoor community frown on fires when wild camping as they are not really part of the 'leave no trace' vibe. This fire was made on a hard rocky beach so no grass was marked, and we made the effort to dismantle the stone circle and distribute the ash afterwards. Not quite zero trace, but very little and nothing permanent.
Mini wine bottles, perfect to take the edge off a days riding. This was also supplemented by a hip flask of Ad Gefrin whisky.
A tent would provide shelter and privacy, but no more protection. It's funny how a thin layer of waterproof fabric has such a large psychological impact. This was Wil's first night sleeping in a bivi.
Greg up at first light to get the pics. Wil opted for a little lie in. The night was far more comfortable than we had expected.
If a child was asked to draw a house. With sheep in front of it.
Wil loves a fancy coffee. This Picopresso is as fancy as it gets. A lot of work but delicious.
The smile of man who survived his first night in a bivi!
Getting the Adventure Spec shots in. This is the Aqua Pac Boot Liner, designed to keep your feet dry when riding through rivers.
Greg packs his kit away. He's using a new Kriega OS Base on his KTM 450EXC. It took a while to get the setup right with the top roll bag but after a day of riding he eventually nailed it.
These drone shots are going to make the film look a million bucks. Probably.
Just north of Kielder there is a BnB inside an old train station. You can walk out on a section of track to this very photogenic tin roof hut.
After a couple of days on the hot dusty trails it would be rude not to take a dip. This felt like cleansing ourselves ready for our return back to the real world.
